Boutique Service
Being a specialist business, we have the time and flexibility to really listen to your needs and to partner with you so that projects are returned to you how you want them, first time. That's how we save you time and money.
Our personal service also ensures that your language projects are managed with skill, care and attention from start to finish, so that your personnel can focus on their own work safe in the knowledge that we are working alongside you.
Team Consistency
We build teams around our clients so that you are always dealing with the same project manager and the same translation team. That way, we learn about your business and your translation requirements. This puts us in a better position to assign the right people for the job, every time.
Our history
Linguistico started as a specialist legal translation company in early 2008, founded in Sydney by David Salter, a former commercial litigation lawyer. The gap in the market was obvious to him: law firms were routinely handling translation in-house, using people who weren't qualified for it and didn't have time to do it properly.
The first project was small — a driving licence, translated from Italian to English. Within months, the work had scaled considerably: a complex mining dispute in the Commercial Court in Paris, then a 500,000-word healthcare translation spanning five languages. It became clear quickly that there was real demand for translators who understood the subject matter, not just the language.
Leading organisations in the legal and insurance sectors now turn to Linguistico with their translation projects including, at times, to review and correct other translation companies' work.
From there, the business grew steadily into its core areas: legal, insurance, banking and finance. In 2010, we opened a European office, giving clients in Australia and Europe overnight turnaround and genuine round-the-clock coverage.
We've kept looking for better ways to work since. That instinct is what led us, most recently, to AI-assisted translation. We use it to speed up drafting on high-volume work, while keeping the same qualified human review on every document that's always been the standard here.
We've built a business we're proud of, but we haven't lost sight of why it started: a love of languages, and the belief that getting the technical detail right actually matters.
People and culture
Together with an in-house team of editors and project managers, our key staff work hard in order to produce market-leading translations for organisations in the UK, Europe, Australia and beyond.
We are here to provide you with outstanding client service and one of the keys to this is our relationship with you. Our staff are always happy to talk about your language projects, regardless of the size.
These are some of the people who you will deal with on a day-to-day basis:
David Salter - Director
David is the founder and a director of Linguistico. A qualified lawyer in Australia and the UK, he combines his love of languages with a clear understanding of our client industries.
As a fluent French speaker, David well understands the vagaries of translation and works closely with our teams in order to ensure that every piece of work produced by Linguistico is well written, precise and can be used by our clients immediately.
David has worked in a number of large law firms, most recently at Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney (now Allens >< Linklaters) where he was a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, working predominantly on insurance and reinsurance matters.
In his spare time, David loves spending time with family and friends, as well as surfing, playing the guitar, learning Mandarin and eating pizza. He is also a keen supporter of ChildFund Australia.
Adrienne Sycamore - Director (Asia Pacific)
Adrienne is a director of Linguistico and joined soon after inception. Adrienne brings over 10 years of project management experience, together with finely tuned operational and leadership skills. She comes from a projects-based background and has previously worked for a major investment bank and a "Big Four" accounting firm.

She is responsible for supervising all project management and client management and works alongside Linguisitico's key clients to ensure that their translation projects run smoothly from start to finish.
During her time with Linguistico, Adrienne has effortlessly worked her way through the most complex of projects and delivered results far in excess of our clients' expectations. Clients cite Adrienne's project management and communication skills as outstanding, thorough and responsive.
Adrienne is currently training for the Sydney Marathon and in her quiet time, learning Italian. She loves nothing more than coming up with unique business ideas.
